14th June Alesund

We drove along the Atlantic highway route today, according to the guardian newspaper it once crowned it the'world's best road trip'. I'm not totally convinced but it was certainly a route worth taking.  At the beginning of our holiday we would say 'wow', stop the car and take a photo. Now we still enjoy the view as much but forget to take the pictures. We are now in Alesund for two nights, it is a popular stop for cruise liners and is very pretty, the buildings are all art nouveau in style. We are in a large aire type parking right in town, no Brit vans but plenty of other nationalities. We are enjoying all the comings and goings in the 40 or so parking places, everyone fighting over the electric points!
